A building was evacuated at South Meck High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, due to an “air quality incident” caused by a clogged toilet.

Maintenance at the school reportedly unclogged the toilet, which then caused sewer gases to back up through the toilet. Students then began reporting that they had burning eyes and throats and some required treatment at the scene.

It is not clear if the incident has been fully resolved.
