A man who expressed thoughts about suicide and was briefly hospitalized returned home on Memorial Day and fatally shot his wife, her father and her stepmother before killing himself, police said.
Officers responding to a report of gunshots on Monday afternoon found the four people dead in the bedroom of a home just outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh said 29-year-old Sean Ganey shot his wife, Cassidy Ganey, 25; her father, Kenny Adair, 55; her stepmother, Shelly Lorenz-Adair, 48; and then himself.
The Ganeys’ young daughter was present but unharmed. Fitzhugh says she was ‘quickly moved out’ of the home. Authorities said they were trying to piece together the sequence of events that led to the fatal shootings.
