Authorities are evacuating homes south of a water treatment facility in Chickasaw, Alabama, due to a potential chemical tank rupture.

A tank containing acrylamide is reportedly overheating at the facility. Workers have tried to cool the tank by pouring water over it, but the risk has not been contained. If the tank ruptured, the gas vapor could pose serious health risks to those exposed.
