Maine is becoming the third state, behind California and Oregon, as well as Washington, D.C., in allowing a third, non-binary gender option on driver’s licenses.

Until July of 2019, the state will give stickers to those wishing to identify as X on their licenses rather than M or F. After July of 2019, the state will issue licenses with it printed on.
