11:30 p.m. ET: The latest numbers from police show that 63 people were shot in about a 48-hour period from Friday night to Sunday night in the city, and of those, nine have died.


Police in Chicago say that at least 42 people have been shot in Chicago since midnight, according to ABC 7. Of the 42 people, four of them have died.

“Since Friday at 5 p.m., 59 people have been shot, six fatally, in shootings in Chicago.”

Police say some of the shootings were targeted and related to gang conflicts.

In one individual shooting that took place early Sunday morning, eight people were wounded.
