A Nigerian man has died after he swam to save 13 people in a boat accident, only to drown trying to save a 14th person.
Joseph Blankson, 26, witnessed the the boat capsize and immediately swam out to help the people stuck in the water. Singlehandedly, Blankson was able to rescue 13 of the 24 people involved. However, while he was trying to aid the 14th person, Blackmon became exhausted, and sadly drowned. He was the only casualty, after ten people began to rescue the remaining survivors.
Blackmon leaves behind a wife and two children, a son and daughter.
