Former Maryland offensive lineman Jordan McNair showed signs of extreme exhaustion leading up to his deadly heatstroke, according to multiple sources.

McNair had difficulty standing upright while running a set of 110-yard sprints and was found to have a body temperature of 106 degrees at a local hospital. The 19-year-old was going through the team’s outdoor workout when he collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital. He died two weeks later.

An investigation is underway to determine whether team officials properly handled the situation. Both the university and McNair’s parents have launched individual investigations.
