Officials in India say that at least 320 people are dead and over 200,000 are homeless after historic flooding.

The monsoon storms that swept through the area created the worst flooding that the Kerala area had seen in 100 years. Many of the people were killed by debris that trapped them during landslides.

Hundreds of troops have been deployed to help dig through and rescue people, as well as to provide aid. Across the country as a whole, around 930 people have died in the monsoon season, which began in June.
