A 29-year-old man has been charged on 2 counts after he attempted to drive his car into a group of people and police officers.

The incident occurred on August 14th, and he will appear again in court on August 20th. Salih Khater, a Sudanese born UK national, then crashed into the barrier to the House of Parliament.

Police are treating the case as an act of terrorism due to the methodology, iconic location and the alleged targeting of civilians and police officers. Khater faces charges of attempted murder and attempted murder of police officers.
