A U.S. lawyer is facing up to 10 years in prison due to his part in a pornography piracy scheme.

Paul Hansmeier has pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud and money laundering for his part in the Prenda Law piracy scheme. The operation is estimated to have netted Hansmeier up to $3 million.

Hansmeier and his colleague would reportedly work alongside porn producers to upload their videos to sites used for pirating, then track who downloaded them and eventually suing them for the piracy. Eventually, they began uploading the videos on their own, collecting more profits and putting them into shell companies to cover up the operation.
