Police in the Netherlands say they have arrested seven men who are accused of planning a “large-scale” terror attack in the country. The arrests, which happened in the towns of Arnhem and Weert, come after months of investigations by intelligence officials.

The plot reportedly centered around a 34-year-old man of Iraqi heritage who wanted to “carry out a major extremist attack on a large event and cause multiple injuries,” according to the Daily Mail.

The plot involved using bomb vests and assault rifles, as well as a car bomb at another location.
