A college football player died after jumping from a 16th-story window Thursday night. Marquis Brown, a running back at Football Championship Subdivision school Duquesne, died at a Pittsburgh hospital after plunging from the window at an on-campus building around 10:30 p.m., according to a letter to the campus community.

The Pittsburgh Police Department, which confirmed the details of Brown’s death but did not identify him by name, is investigating the incident.¬†Brown jumped from a window at Brottier Hall after campus police arrived on the floor to respond to a reported disturbance, according to the letter.
