Legendary basketball coach Tex Winter, who pioneered the “triangle offense” while working with Phil Jackson, has died, according to the Associated Press. Winter was 96.

After first coming up with the offensive style in 1962, he assisted championship teams with the Chicago Bulls in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998, and with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2000, 2001 and 2002.
