Country rock legend Tony Joe White has died at the age of 75, according to his record label.

White is best known for his song “Polk Salad Annie” which was his biggest hit, released in 1969. The song has since been covered by the likes of Elvis Presley and Tom Jones.

White also helped to write “Rainy Night in Georgia” for Ray Charles, “Undercover Agent for the Blues,” and also “Steamy Windows,” which Tina Turner turned into a hit with her cover of the song in 1989.
