King Power Stadium, home to the Leicester City soccer club, has been evacuated after a helicopter crashed outside.
The helicopter belonged to Leicester City’s owner. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the stadium. The owner is usually picked up in the helicopter in the middle of the field following every match. King Power will release a statement tomorrow, but confirm that owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was on-board the eight-seater helicopter, per BeIN sports. His condition is unknown. The cause of the crash was failure upon take off that resulted in a fire.
Leicester City says they are cooperating with authorities in the investigation, however, the decline to provide further details. No bystanders were injured.
