Graham Morant, an Australian man, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for encouraging his wife to commit suicide, according to BBC News.

Morant, 68, was convicted of “counselling and aiding his wife” to commit suicide in order to cash in on her life insurance benefits. His wife, Jennifer Morant, suffered from chronic pain, depression and anxiety, but wasn’t terminally ill, when she took her own life in 2014.

Her husband reportedly told her that he planned to use the insurance money to build a religious commune.
