A 5.9-magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Japan, according to the USGS. The earthquake, which struck at about 4:30 a.m. local time, was also in the area of parts of Russia.

The earthquake was relatively shallow, with a depth of 10 km, according to EMSC.
