Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been charged in the United States, according to a filing obtained by the Washington Post.

In the filing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Kellen S. Dwyer was attempting to have a separate matter sealed due to the fact that it could reveal the charges against Assange. Dwyer wrote, “due to the sophistication of the defendant and the publicity surrounding the case, no other procedure is likely to keep confidential the fact that Assange has been charged.” The prosecutor went on to say the charges would “need to be sealed until Assange is arrested.
