An inquiry into a farmer’s death shows that he was killed by his Jack Russell dog, who crushed him with a forklift.
The dog pushed a lever on the forklift, causing it to run over Derek Mead, 70, in Weston-super-Mare in the west of England. he was discovered by his son, who had been driving down a lane near the family farm. He noticed his father trapped under the forklift, and says it appeared as though he tried to avoid it before becoming pinned.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy revealed that his cause of death was traumatic asphyxia and spinal fractures.
